“Sweet Nothings,” directed by Joseph Bouvier, is a neo-noir horror short. For this film, we opted for the Canon V35 lenses to give the film a unique look. These lenses are modified Canon CNE primes with modifications that mimic the look of Canon K35 lenses. When I checked out these lenses, the first thing I noticed was that the rear element has a glimmer glass quality, so you get that effect without needing to add filtration. I found the images very pleasing, and these lenses are very easy to work with since they are in a modern housing. I’ll definitely use these in the future when I want a subtle vintage-inspired look.

After an incredible festival run, you can now watch the film from home!

Quick update! I realize I never shared photos from this amazing shoot on here so I’m adding them to the post now.

It was an absolute privilege to work with the Boston Red Sox and this amazingly talented crew who captured all the action on and off the field. I was a camera operator on this show and it was a fantastic experience. Fenway park is the best office anyone could dream of. Here are a few of the camera placements.

We filmed with the Sony Burano which was perfect combination of size and specs. Here is a great video from Abel Cine where our DP Terry Zumalt talks about choosing the Burano and what it was like to spend an entire season with the Boston Red Sox. Thanks to Abel for the fabulous camera packages. My assignment was primarily long-lens slow-motion shots of game play and the Canon 50-1000 was an incredible lens for getting close shots across the entire field.
