For the 3rd year in a row I had the privilege of shooting with the Boston Celtics on Media Day! This year’s location was High Output Charles River Studios in Canton, MA. For the Celtics we use a blue screen because their jerseys are green. When a chroma backdrop is lit it is easy to key and the background can be replaced with anything! We also use a teleprompter because each player has a different script and we need to work quickly. It is easy for our prompter operator, Stephanie Lozen-Kowalski from Teleprompters of Boston, to make script adjustments on the fly. Using a prompter is great for any information heavy video. It helps the performer stay on script and also helps with timing since the prompter script can be slowed down or sped up as needed.

Thanks to everyone who made this shoot possible, especially the players who rocked it on camera and the entire Celtics organization! Here’s to another awesome season! Let’s Go C’s! Produced by Margaux Stunzi of Element Productions, Teleprompter Operator Stephanie Lozen-Kowalski, Sound Mixer Matthew Glover, Grip Jack Garrett, Strategy Coordinator, Business Development for the Boston Celtics Alec Spivack.

I will write a detailed post about upcoming horror feature The Luring soon, but for now I want to share a few of my favorite snapshots from the shoot!

It was awesome to work with the ladies of Reebok to shoot a few videos in celebration of International Women’s Day. We used the Red Epic Dragon and a few KinoFlos for quick interviews.

On another recent shoot we kitted out my C100 with an Atomos Ninja 2, Canon Cine Primes, Teradek 3000, Heden Carat, and flew it on a jib!

2016 was full of ups and downs but I was so lucky to end the year right with several great interview shoots. Thanks to my amazing film family for always having my back. Let’s show 2017 how it’s done!

We shot this 2 camera interview with a matching pair of Canon C300mII cameras. I love the C300mII- the color sampling is incredible. Personally, I like using the Production Camera Color Matrix. You can also set it to match the original C300 perfectly so that is a nice option for multicam shoots or for matching footage in an ongoing project.

If you shot with the original then you will find this camera similar on the outside, but the menu is a little more complicated. I learned it quickly, but it is definitely something you want to get familiar with before you go on set. If you really want to use the C300mII to its full potential then I recommend that you watch these comprehensive videos that Canon released.
